You don’t need another event. You need the same people again.
Making friends as an adult is weirdly hard. You meet someone cool at a thing, say “we should hang out,” and never see them again. Seirea puts you in a group of 6 or 7 people near you, matched on your schedule and what you’re into, that meets every week for a month. Same people every week, so strangers turn into your regulars.

Same people, every week
I pick a public spot for week 1. After that, your group decides where to go: coffee, tacos, a walk, a game night. Same people, four weeks in a row.
- Sign up free. You only pay once you’ve been placed in a group.
- It covers matching, organizing and keeping your group’s week on track. You pay for your own coffee or food.
- First meetup not for you? Full refund.
- Paid through Stripe. I never see your card.
People expect meeting strangers to go worse than it does.
In a 2022 study, students who spent five days on small missions to talk to strangers expected less rejection by the end, and the change still held a week later.
Before your first meetup you’ll guess how awkward it’ll feel. After, you’ll say how it actually felt. Most people are surprised by their own numbers.

You’re meeting people you don’t know yet, so the rules are simple and they’re enforced.
The first round is matched by hand. I’m Acram, I live in DFW, and I’m running this round myself.

Questions
Is this a dating thing?
It’s built for friendship, so groups aren’t matched for dating. You’re all adults, though: if two people hit it off on their own, that’s up to them. What’s not OK is unwanted attention, and a no is always a no.
Why not just go to Meetup or an event?
Events are great for meeting people once. The hard part is seeing them again. Seirea puts you with the same small group every week for a month, which is how people you met turn into people you know.
I’ve tried dinner-with-strangers apps. How is this different?
Those are a fun way to meet people, but you get a new table every time, so you rarely see anyone again. Here it’s the same 6 or 7 people every week. Research suggests it takes about 50 hours together to become casual friends, and one dinner is about 3. Seeing the same people again is the whole point.
Do I pay now?
No. Sign up free. Once you’re placed, I’ll text you your group, night and first spot with a link to pay $15 and lock your spot.
Why does it cost anything?
It pays for matching and organizing, and it means everyone in your group actually committed to showing up. $15 is the founding price for this first round, and founding members keep it for as long as they stay in a group.
Who’s in my group?
6 or 7 people who can get to the same part of DFW, are free the same night, are in a similar age range, and share some of your interests.
How do you match groups?
Where you can get to and which nights you’re free come first, so meeting is easy. Then age range, interests and what you do, so you have things to talk about. I also mix people who get conversation going with people who’d rather listen, so no table is all one or the other. I place every group myself in this first round.
What do we actually do?
Week 1 is at a public spot I pick near your group. After that, your group decides in the group chat: a coffee shop, a walk, a taco place, a game night. I send ideas, and a different person picks each week. Always a public place, and no bars this first round.
What if I don’t like it?
Your first meetup is refundable. Tell me and I’ll refund you, no hard feelings.
Who sees my phone number?
I do, so I can text you. Your group chat runs on GroupMe, which doesn’t show your number to the other people in it. Your number is never sold or shared. Privacy details.
What happens after four weeks?
You don’t have to say goodbye. Month two is optional: keep going with your group, meet another group at a mixer, and join a second group if you want more people in your week.
Is Seirea an app?
Not yet. This first round is run by hand, by a real person, on purpose. The app comes later, built around what works here.
I’m not in DFW.
This first round is Dallas–Fort Worth only. Other cities come later.
